For example, paypal take CC as a way to deposit money and there is no charge for it.
If you're a merchant (or found to be...) credit cards *will* cost at PayPal, but it's important to use the correct terms here. Deposit is a banking term. It implies the right to go off and make risky loans and lose or make money. e-gold only stores gold as a *bailment* so when you say you're wanting to make a deposit, what you're REALLY wanting to do is buy grams of e-gold. It may seem picky, but using the correct terms makes a vital difference.
In fact, e-gold Ltd. has no bank account(s) -- too risky!
But most egold exchanger only accept money order, WU or wire transfer. They cost money and it can't be done in real time.
e-gold works in real time. Inferior systems break in real time, and until the inferior systems improve, there's not going to be an easy/fast way to buy grams compared to other systems (where a currency exchange transaction is not required). If you can find a faster/cheaper way to SAFELY convert all that inferior stuff to Better Money (tm) then you might get rich (ask Graham Kelly!).
If egold can find a easier way to deposit money, i think more people will use it for sure. One thing I don't know is, does egold support recurring billing for a membreship site?
No (and that's a major problem for adult merchants, who would prefer "recurring billing" to repeatedly attracting their customers back, it seems!). You can send requests for payment using the automatically-generated URLs at http://sci.e-gold.com but your customer will have to repeatedly-make the decision that your site/service is actually worth the grams that you want out of him/her.
e-gold has to be "cruel to be kind" with this kind of stuff,
whether it's adult-sites or anything else. Musicians are
already finding it out; you can't write 2 good songs & 13
lousy ones and expect to sell anything except the 2 good
ones. In the long run, this increased direct marketplace
messaging-granularity between consumers & merchants
will benefit us all, and it's one of the main things about
e-gold that still really excites me about the future even
after all these years... I just wish more musicians and
adult-sites "got it."
