Dear James,

Your message has another interesting implication. If you
violate the anti-spam provision of the e-gold account user
agreement, you will quickly find that your unsolicited
e-mails are reported and your account is balance limited.
You should review the terms of service on the e-gold.com
web site.

At the same time, there are many discussion lists, including
this one, where e-gold is discussed. You'll find many of
them on the YahooGroups.com server, as well. Posting
information to a discussion list is not spamming individuals.
It is possible to "spam" the list, by posting off topic or
posting so often about the same thing that everyone gets
upset.

As it happens, this list is the second oldest and probably
biggest in the industry. An older list exists at
free-market.net but it had trouble about a year ago and
became useless due to spam. I think it may have been
fixed in the time since.

Another more recent list is e-told.org which concentrates
on discussing ventures such as the referral type deal you
seem to be involved in.

To answer your questions, don't buy lists of e-gold users.
If you do, you are probably wasting your money and getting
ready to have your e-gold account balance limited.

Balance limits are imposed by e-gold.com when they determine
that someone is abusing their terms of service or otherwise
doing bad stuff - like fraud or theft with an account. A
balance limit means that nobody can put more gold into your
account. If you are being paid for referrals, that ends
your referral payments - you cannot receive them.

An account can also be frozen or seized, by court order or
in other circumstances. The freedom of association clause
in your e-gold contract makes it clear that having an
e-gold account is not a right or a guaranty, it is a
privilege of association extended by e-gold - and they
can take it away.

So, please don't send out spam. And thanks for your
thoughtful and courteous question. It is very appropriate
to the purpose of this list - which is to discuss money
and e-gold.

Regards,

Jim
