I think most people prefer dollars over grams because most merchants
products and services are priced in dollars. If more merchants priced their
products and services in grams people would place orders to buy e-gold in grams.
Most US citizens have forgotten high inflation, which
was a problem for the dollar in the mid to late '70s. I
suspect inflation would have to return for dollars to
lose a lot of popularity. Since newspapers earlier this
year were warning of DEflation, inflation may be
coming soon (based on Ray's theory of journalistic-
cluelessness it's pretty-likely).
