Starting from last Thursday's close of approximately $376 per ounce, gold rose to today's high of $393, then slumped.
It is somewhat interesting that the drop in price this afternoon gave up about half of the $17 gain from $376 to $393. The price dropped back to about $384.
Subsequently, gold appears to be rising again, now at $385.50.
