"Your project ... would be better to find a way to tap into existing
systems so e-gold is an option rather than the only option."

I'm not entirely sure what you mean, but the system is integrated with
Softpay in such a manner that it works on top of the existing merchant
account, not in place of it. So, from the one terminal you could access
whatever credit/debit cards the merchant accepts, plus up to three
e-currencies (at the time it was configured to access E-Bullion, e-gold
and OSGold [oops])

The Softpay workover had a lot of bugs in it, as it was not ... ahem ...
an authorised re-enginerring of the program, but the CRIS system shows
tremendous promise due to its flexibility. The Turing number represents a
challenge as the screens on the terminals are not particularly good for
viewing complex grahics (more precisely, they are entirely unsuited for
the task.)

"Imagine getting a coke machine to allow for signups of new e-gold
accounts... :-) Would you like an e-gold account with that hamburger and
coke?"

Well, part of my angle on how to make the project profitable would be to
have the merchants signed up "under" me into the e-currencies, to get the
progeny bonuses. Although the cost of the terminals vs. the trickle of
bonuses would take an enternity to cover, at some point the viability of
the system would catch on with merchants and then we would start charing
for them.

Actual new account signups from a vending machine or credit terminal would
be a real pain; it's one thing to have to sit punching account numbers,
passwords, Turing numbers, and spend info into the machine off of a
ten-digit numerical pad ... new users would possibly be dissuaded from the
process entirely simply because of the work that would go into setting it
up, plus they would not be able to use the account until the next time
they went online to get the number.
