Hello everybody,

Let me introduce myself first, as it is my first day on the list. My
name is Julie Donska and I am a CRM manager of the company called
Gold-cash.biz. We exchange digital currencies and provide banking /
company registration services as well. Our company is in existence from
May, 2003 so you can say we are pretty young, although we dealt with
electronic currencies for several years prior to opening our own
business.

Now, to the question. From the very start our company (we are situated
in Latvia) sought for a solution to lower the transaction costs for our
clients by eliminating the wire fees. One obvious option was to open
bank accounts in the countries where our clients are, which we are still
considering by the way. But we found this service moneybookers.com which
we decided to use instead.

We have not even yet started operating with Moneybookers, but several
days ago we have received an email from them stating that companies
dealing with digital currencies are deemed high risk by the management
and the accounts will be disabled. If you visit our site
(http://www.gold-cash.biz) you will see that our services are integrated
with moneybookers, it's everywhere, really - the FAQ, the payment forms,
etc. It will take us several days to update the information. And of
course this will mean higher fees to our clients.

Did any of you have similar experience with moneybookers? Is there
something that can be done about it? I have emailed their rep and he
said that we were not picked out, every company providing the services
got affected. After asking whether any solution is possible, there was
an angry reply: "There is no way we can continue doing business with
your company". The explanation was that risks of our industry are too
high. But this sounds strange, as they provide the very same service -
they work with E-Gold and WebMoney (they even advertise in the same
category as us on Google). And they do not ask for any ID for a basic
account, so it does not look like they worry about money laundering that
much.

So this looks more like a move to curb the competition. But from the
www.icegold.com site we have gathered that moneybookers did already once
refuse services to e-currency exchanges.

The question is, is there any sense in trying to persuade moneybookers
continue providing us with services and can it be that they will reverse
their policy in the future. If there is some business working with
moneybookers or probably moneybookers.

Thank you for your answers and hoping to become a valuable part of the
digital currency family.

Best Regards,

Julie Donska
