I remember what it was like on the first anniversary here in New York. There was still a lot of fear and the entire city was as quiet as it was the days following the events of that Tuesday morning. The second anniversary was solemn, but it was clear to me that people were beginning to move forward with their lives. Since the anniversary falls on a Saturday this year, it's being marked with weddings, parties, long walks in Central Park and whatever else it is that people do on the first day of a weekend. I think that's fitting. While it's important to take time to remember those who lost their lives, it's equally important to enjoy life to its fullest every day of the year.
