Hi All,

I experience some issue using a 82583 (e1000e) NIC. "Reset adapter, 0 queue
timeout" but ASPM is disabled.

I've try to update the eeprom for this issue using the provided script here:

https://sourceforge.net/projects/e1000/files/e1000e%20stable/eeprom_fix_82574_or_82583/

The script tells that my hardware is affected and process changes on my eeprom
and ask me to reboot.

But after the reboot, the eeprom is still not updated:

# bash fixeep-82574_83.sh eth0
eth0: is a "82583V Gigabit Network Connection"
This fixup is applicable to your hardware
executing command: ethtool -E eth0 magic 0x150c8086 offset 0x1e value 0x5a
Change made. You *MUST* reboot your machine before changes take effect!
# reboot
...
# ethtool -e eth0
Offset Values
------ ------
0x0000: 00 10 f3 3a 4c 44 20 04 46 f7 a0 10 ff ff ff ff
0x0010: ff ff ff ff 6b 02 00 00 86 80 0c 15 ff ff 58 80
0x0020: 00 00 01 20 74 7e ff ff 00 10 c8 00 00 00 04 27
0x0030: c9 6c 50 31 3e 07 0b 44 06 2d 40 01 00 f0 07 84
0x0040: 00 60 80 00 04 0f ff 7f 01 4d 00 c6 00 00 ff 20

0x0070: ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff 50 01 ff ff 6a 76

Value at offset 0x1e is still 0x58 even if i launched the the prompted ethtool
-E by the hand and reboot.
