Hi Alex,

Through a combination of a new BIOS release, some fiddling with
BIOS parameters, putting up the latest 'ixgbe' release and
installing the latest RHEL 5.2 patched kernel I finally have the
82598EB CX4 devices running at x8 bus speed on the HP DL160.

Data loss is dramatically improved. However I'm still seeing a
small amount of packet loss relative to the control system
running e1000e/82571EB. Both are attached to the same fully
tricked-out Cisco 6509.

For the moment the drivers were built with DCA/IOAT disabled and
the corresponding kernel modules are not loaded.

Seeing a tiny number of 'rx_errors', fewer than five, but the
number of data loss events roughly matches. No other error
counters are clicking and nothing appears in 'dmesg'. I'll see if
I can collect further information to characterize what may be
the cause of the data loss.

David
