Hello, I'm involved in a project where we're working with 802.1q frames, and we want to develop a Test System where the frame generator is developed in PC (Ubuntu 4.2.3-2ubuntu7). We've already bought but still waiting, the Intel PRO/1000 PT Quad Port Server Adapter for this purpose . Playing around with a normal NIC we've observed that is not possible to check the FCS whith any sniffer (wireshark). Since where planning to stress the network in all the ways possible, to have the FCS information would be pretty important, also the frames with invalid checksum. Without any modification in the driver of the adapter and in the OS it's impossible have at my disposal such information in any sniffer. I've just wondering if anybody has already any experience with this kind of modifications into the driver to provide the CRC information. Thank you in advance,
