Hi, on my current Ubuntu Maverick, running 2.6.35-22/23-generic-pae I see the same problem as reported in january: when the interface is up, events/0 produces 100% CPU usage spikes every 3 seconds.
While the other bugs seem to be reported only for ThinkPads, this happens on a Dell Inspiron desktop from 2007 (Dell DXP061 series board, Additionally, when loading the module with this happens: [ 0] Intel(R) PRO/1000 Network Driver - 1.0.2-k4 [ 0] PCI INT A -> GSI 21 (level, low) -> IRQ 21 [ 0] setting latency timer to 64 [ 0] irq 43 for MSI/MSI-X <= IntMode=1/2 [ 0] (unregistered net_device): Interrupt Mode set to 0/2 <= IntMode=0/2 [80] PCI INT A disabled" During these 80 seconds modprobe (not events/0 or /1) uses 100% CPU. Regardless of IntMode, it's repeatably 80 seconds. There was no delay during boot however. The odd thing is, I updated to 2.6.35-23 yesterday, but it doesn't work with 2.6.35-22 now either. The .ko's date from 2010-11-24 and 2010-10-17, so they seem unchanged by the recent update… I didn't change any hardware either… Which logfiles should I send? (e1000e is a bit quiet, is there a verbose option?) Any pointers would be appreciated, Cheers, -- pascal ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Oracle to DB2 Conversion Guide: Learn learn about native support for PL/SQL, new data types, scalar functions, improved concurrency, built-in packages, OCI, SQL*Plus, data movement tools, best practices and more. http://p.sf.net/sfu/oracle-sfdev2dev _______________________________________________ E1000-devel mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/e1000-devel To learn more about Intel® Ethernet, visit http://communities.intel.com/community/wired
