Actually there is quite a bit more information we could use.

First the fix you mention via the link doesn't make much sense.  It 
basically comes up with the email from the previous thread in the 
e1000-devel list which has yet to be resolved.  Would it be possible for 
you to provide us with a link to a patch instead of to an email thread?

Also if you could provide us with a lspci -vvv dump for your system that 
would be very helpful as I am currently not certain what adapter it is 
that you currently have and how this is supposed to be related to an 
e1000 issue.
