Hi all~

I was using e1000 driver for my 82571EB nic on Ubuntu 8.04. Today I
installed e1000e driver.
The e1000e.ko is already updated, and "lsmod" shows the e1000e module
running in the background.
However, when "ethtool -i eth0", it showed that the driver in use was still
e1000, not e1000e.

Then I modified "etc/modules" by appending a line "alias eth0 e1000e". I
even updated the "initramfs", and rebooted the system. But it returned out
that nothing changed.

so, is there any method to replace the e1000 with e1000e driver?

thanks!
Bingyang
