It was decided not to support IPv6 for the 'ethtool -U [interface]' due
to the fact that that the 82599 hardware cannot support multiple IPv6
destination filters, and the masking options on the IPv6 source filters
is limited.

The current ethtool interface can only support IPv4 w/ TCP, UDP, and SCTP.
