Hi Everyone

Is there a senior network programmer around, which maybe can help us?

We are running an old Linux Kernel 2.4.4 with some RTLinux extension and we
have to migrate this system to a new hardware, equipped with Intels 82567V
Ethernet Chip on the mainboard.

Unfortunately, the e1000e Driver does not compile against our old Kernel,
because it seem to require at least Kernel 2.4.18. The problem seems to be
related to some VLAN stuff

which was introduced with Kernel 2.4.18 first time.

So we are looking for an e1000e driver which compiles on our old kernel.

Please do not recommend updating to a newer kernel because there are to many
restrictions/reasons why we can’t do that. (There are no kernel patches
around for Kernels 2.4.18 and RTLinux which are actually working!)

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you in advance.

Regards

Daniel
