Just FYI.

 From https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1014490

I have just contacted SuperMicro tech support. I was asked to flush the
EEPROM using their tool. I am attaching the ZIP file here, but just to
be safe, please contact their tech support.

According to SuperMicro's story, latest BIOS update somehow disables
the second NIC on these servers. The server I updated was SUPERMICRO
SYS-1017C-TF 1U

Hope this helps,

Baskin
