So exactly what is the problem?  The e1000e driver loaded into the system and 
looks to be associated with an interface from the dmesg output.  Are  you sure 
it's not eth0?  Is this a dual port NIC?  What does 'ifconfig -a' show?  How 
about 'lsmod'?  and all the output from 'lspci -vv'?
