Yes this is system specific. I get multiple types of panics. I've
attached the two most common, 90% of the time it's one of these two. All
I have to do to cause this to happen is "ifconfig eth0 down; ifconfig eth0
up". As soon as it execute the up command the kernel panics.

This seems to be identical to a problem discussed in this thread from 2007
http://marc.info/?l=e1000-devel&m=118310336228016 but there was no
solution offered.
Any insight you can offer would be greatly appreciated because we're
stumped.
