Hi,
I am trying to change MTU value to 9000 for a virtual function (SR- IOV
mode).
It works fine when the interface is UP. (using ifconfig mtu 9000 )
But, it fails, If the interface is down. (throwing error message
: RTNETLINK answers: Invalid argument). Note,This error is shown only for
MTU of value 9000. (not for default value 1500).
Due to this problem, I am not able to setup MTU in ifcfg-eth0 script. (Same
error is thrown during bootup). Once it is bootup, I can change the value
using ifconfig (as the interface is already UP).
I am using ixgbevf 2.7.12 for a custom Linux distribution.
Please let me know whether how this issue can be fixed ?
Thanks
PS:
1. Corresponding PF is already updated with MTU value 9000. I understand
that PF must be configured for jumbo frame first followed by VF.
2. ixgbe version 3.15.1
