Hi John& Todd,
To tell the truth, I am trying to learn Kernel TCP/IP stack by myself and try
to figure out some strange thing occurred between netcard and layer2. There is
no FAE around.
Currently, I just print the code of drivers/net/e1000e
82571.c e1000.h hw.h mac.h nvm.c phy.h
82571.h es2lan.c ich8lan.c manage.c nvm.h ptp.c
Makefile es2lan.h ich8lan.h manage.h param.c regs.h
defines.h ethtool.c mac.c netdev.c phy.c
But there are lots of concepts there, so I am lost. :(
In some files, I saw this mail address, then I tried it to see whether there
are some basic document.
My major problem is on Ring, hardware interface setup and e1000 adapter and PCI
Sorry about confusion.

Really appreciated your help!
See attachment for my summary.

Are you looking for the datasheet for the devices or something about the actual
Linux driver? The e1000 driver is EOL and is in a state where very few changes
are made to it and only in the upstream Linux kernel version. If you are
looking for the HW datasheets for the actual devices they are available on
