When you do those steps check out dmesg on both the VM and the host (messages 
from ixgbe). If you can provide the output of dmesg on the VM and the host we 
should get an idea of what the issue may be.

What exactly does not work? Is the interface not coming up, or is it up but 
unable to pass traffic?
