Good morning,
we have realized a carrier board for a Q7 module with the I210IT gigabit
Ethernet controller.
Q7 module is based on Freescale iMX6D and Linux BSP with kernel 3.0.35.

The i210 is connected to the PCIe lane of the iMX6 Q7 module and it's used an
SPI flash for configuration.
Now we have problems in the programming of the empty SPI flash for the i210. We
have used the eepromARMtool but we have always the same error message when we
try to do the dump of the unprogrammed flash:

root@freescale ~$ /eepromARMtool -dump -NIC=1
Intel(R) Eeprom ARM Tool NVM/OTP Unhandled fault: external abort on
non-linefetch (0x1818) at 0x2ad9bb50

Bus error

Doing "lspci" we have the 1531 ID (so the I210 unprogrammed)

Doing an ./eepromARMtool the device is correctly recognized:

root@freescale ~$ /eepromARMtool

Before we were using the 5.0.5 igb driver but we have also done some test with
the 5.2.5, but the issue is the same. Now we want to try with the 5.2.9.4.

We tried to use the programmed SPI flash of the i210 demo board with our board
and the i210 works and the dumping of the flash is available. Also the
reprogramming of the flash works if the flash is already programmed.

Attached you can find a log of the boot of the board and the eepromARMtool
messages.

Let me know if you need other information.

Thank you very much.

Best regards.
