Oh, I just remembered the EEPROM checksum could actually be bad if you have an old enough card. The easiest way to fix this is to write one byte to the EEPROM with a newer driver and let it recalculate the checksums.\
If you send me a dump of the eeprom (ethtool -e <ethX>), I can take a look at it. The easiest way to do that is to file a bug on e1000.sourceforge.net. Thanks.
