I'm having trouble getting PTP (ptp4l) running with the latest ixgbe driver.

I am getting "timed out while polling for tx timestamp" when I try and
start up ptp4l. I've tried increasing the tx_timestamp_timeout from the
default of 1 to 1000, but the result is the same.

On kernel 3.10 it works normally if I roll back to 3.22.3. 3.22.3 won't
compile on 3.18, so I haven't tested it there.

Kernel is 3.18.1 or 3.10.44 with CentOS6, tried with the CentOS6 linuxptp
(v1.4, 2.20140318git2b099c.el6) as well as building from 1.5, both with the
same result:

Here's the log output from ptp4l: (note this process loops endlessly)

Jan 12 15:59:23 sec50 ptp4l: [518418.759] increasing tx_timestamp_timeout
may correct this issue, but it is likely caused by a driver bug

Jan 12 15:59:23 sec50 ptp4l: [518418.759] port 1: UNCALIBRATED to FAULTY on
FAULT_DETECTED (FT_UNSPECIFIED)

Hardware, if it matters, is Intel X520-DA2.
