Ah, now I see it:
All the devices that are directly connected to the root bus are named
00:XY.Z in the tabular listing
And all and only those are in the left column in the tree view, labelled as
+-XY.Z
So the leftmost vertical line of + and | in lspci -t is the root bus, right?
And devices "off the main road" are adressed by their "road + house number", so
to say.
Lets check with the Tesla card.
(in case that somebody else wants to follow this, I attach the lspci output
again)
Its connected to bus [01], which, seen from the root, is "beyond" above
mentioned bridge 02.0
But to identify the Tesla in the table listing, this bridge does not matter any
more.
We have just the bus number (which is [01]) and a sequential number there ,
which is 00.
And we have two floors in this house - one for video, one for audio.
So I look for
01.00.0 for the video port of the tesla
01.00.1 for its audio port

Are there PCI bridges/switches out there in the wilderness that can translate
Transfer speed,
similar to what happens with 100/1000 GBit Ethernet switches?

go for buying new PCIe 2.0 hardware....

I suspect this has to do with CrossFire, SLI and such kind of propietary
graphic card stuff.
As far as I can remember, this allows board-board communication without
blocking mainboard bandwith.
I don't really believe that I could assign this bandwith to a NIC without
stealing it from somewhere else.
So we'll leave this to the gaming enthusiasts to figure it out ;-)

As we can see, even now, the Quadro "grabbed" x8.
So to reserve Bandwith, I think I had to try to put the Quadro into a x1 slot
(using some x1-x16 Adaptor), or go for some minimalistic x1 video card.

shuld suffice to boot a server in console mode, right?

Thats fine, if I get it configured this way.
For the moment, my "dream configuration" would be:
