Hi Todd et.al.,

I'm facing an issue with igbvf driver handling the virtual function of I350
NIC in a guest VM on qemu-kvm, where no multicast packets are seen in the
guest. I do see the multicast filters properly programmed (by writing to
mailbox to communicate to host igb driver). Packets are not seen even if
the interface is put in promiscuous mode in the guest. The only way to
solve the issue is to put the physical interface (or physical function) of
the corresponding VF in promiscuous mode on the host.

I tried looking into in the mailing lists if any such issues are reported,
but couldn't find one. Could you please let me know of any known issues
with igbvf driver in handling multicast packets or is it by design that the
multicast packets and the filters are not engaged in.

Thank you.

Regards,
B Lee
