Currently, trying to set up RSS inside VF(SR-IOV)
My set-up is VM over KVM, the NIC(2x10G, based on 82599) is set in SR-IOV, it
creates 2 VFs per PF.
When VF is created, it has two queues(q0,q1). The traffic is distributed
between VFs(Pools) in proper way, according to the dst mac address,
but it ends up only in q0 of every VF. I tried to set MRQC register like
below, but without avail.
1011b = Virtualization and RSS — 64 pools, each allocated 2 RSS queues
it seems, X550 has RSS infrastructure that lets to set RSS per VF, contrary to
the 82599, where it's shared between PF and VFs.
In Hypervisor, I run ixgbe and in the VM, I use dpdk-based app(over dpdk's
ixgbevf).
I am curious, whether somebody managed to have RSS inside the VF(SR-IOV).
Thanks, Maksim
