You guys are awesome! FYI... I have always preferred Intel over AMD when
it came to processors. I am now even more of an Intel fan. If any of you
know Lance McQuiddy over there at Intel be sure and tell him I said hello.
Thank you for all of the advice.
The dmesg command was helpful. All of these years playing with Linux and
I've never known about this command! See attached for more detail, but I
was able to find the following entries:
[ 1.449132] FUJITSU Extended Socket Network Device Driver - version 1.1
- Copyright (c) 2015 FUJITSU LIMITED
....
[ 10.346520] ACPI Warning: SystemIO range
0x000000000000f040-0x000000000000f05f conflicts with OpRegion

(20130517/utaddress-254)
[ 10.346524] ACPI: If an ACPI driver is available for this device, you
should use it instead of the native driver
This led me to do a little more research and I found this page on Ubuntu's
site
<http://askubuntu.com/questions/78256/lspci-and-lshw-show-no-network-devices>
which
seemed like a possible explanation.
I double-checked and the NIC was indeed enabled in BIOS. I reset the BIOS
by removing the CMOS battery and disconnecting power. After replacing the
battery and booting up, I am now sending you an email with my new Internet
connection in CentOS. Thanks again!
