I am sorry, Kirill.
I was so busy with other things that I just forgot to follow up.

Best regards,

Kai

Subject: [e4-dev] Re: animations

Hi Kirill,

I looked at the messages on e4-dev and the conclusion (if any) seemed to be
that the way forward would be to support animations on top of SWT (instead of
built into it). Kai said he wanted to have a look at what you've done but
apparently forgot to follow up.

I am a big fan of adding animations to e4 - can we try to revive this
discussion? As with everything, the problem is going to be who can invest time
in this, but then again, this seems like something that doesn't have to be
delivered at a certain time so could live in the e4 incubator until it is ready
to graduate.

What I would love to see is a demo (built on, for example, the photo demo) that
shows how animations at the level of the workbench can be used to improve the
user experience. For example, using animation to smooth the transition when you
switch from one view to another, or when you add or remove a view.

Would you be interested in working on this in the context of e4? More
specifically, would you be willing to contribute code you already have to the
e4 project? I could imagine animation support being another e4 work area.

Boris

Subject: [e4-dev] RE: [wtp-pmc] Proposal for JSDT as a project

The phrase "...the JavaScript debugging support currently being developed
within the e4 Project..." caught my eye.

IMHO, e4 needs a "killer app" in the way that JDT was for the original Eclipse
versions. I've hold little hope that the JDT project in its current form could
fill that role.

Is a native e4 implementation (e.g. one not relying upon the 3.x compatibility
platform) of these JavaScript tools within the scope of this project? Is
aligning the release schedule of this project with e4 part of the plan?

I would also note that this project lacks diversity. All of the committers are
from IBM. Who else wants to step up to participate? Can we please (pretty
please!) endeavour to create more diversity on this project before it is
formally created?

/mike

Subject: [wtp-pmc] Proposal for JSDT as a project

Hello,
I'd like to propose a JavaScript Development Tools project, based largely on
the JavaScript Development Tools component in Source Editing. The proposal is
in the attached zip and details some of the reasoning behind the idea, and how
the plan is to still have it be part of our 3.2 Release. I'd like the PMC's
review and approval before forwarding it to the EMO.
