+1. I think SWT guys are already doing this (sometimes :-))
Even better it would be to have post-commit/post-pull hooks in Git/Gerrit to automatically add comments to relatred bugs.
The policy for a proper "bugfix commit" would require the bug id in the commit message, something like: "Fixed NPE for bug #123456", and the clever hook would automatically post a comment into the bugzilla bug.
