Gilles is wright.
'e' is for eagle chip
'9' is for 930 (previous adsl chipset before eagle)
'i' for isdn, 'p' for pots
The first bnm files are used for WHQL, no use for linux.
43e2ead4 L1 code and higher are compatible with Eagle 1, 2 and 3.
Windows driver includes unnecessary bnm and CMV files for historical
reason.

what's strange is
$grep -i eagle *
CMV3i.TXT:;ISDN for EAGLE
CMV3p.txt:; POTS for EAGLE
cmvei.txt:; ISDN for EAGLE
cmvep.txt:; POTS for EAGLE (43e2ead4)
cmv.txt:; POTS for EAGLE
so the other seem for eagle chip
