Hi,
I've noticed this for awhile but as I get larger and larger projects it seems
to bother me more. Basically IDEA takes several seconds to start-up (currently
I have VCS enabled) somewhere between 10-50sec. So I routinely click the icon
to start it then go to a different application e-mail client, web browser etc.
IDEA keeps calling focus to itself. Then I'll click back on my browser and
again IDEA will steal focus. Seems to happen either 2-3 times during start-up.
Is it really necessary for IDEA to force application focus on itself that many
times? If I click for any other app to start then go away they will only force
focus when they are really ready to work. For example Outlook will only focus
after it has fully loaded.
So I think it's a bug to have IDEA focus after loading the project and local
VCS sync. If at all it should only force focus when all the initialization are
completed.
