I still get this all the time when the cpu is busy !

I get this sometimes when my CPU is near 100% and I hit any control
character. I find myself hitting CTRL-Z to undo a change.  Then hitting it
again to undo the little box that got inserted instead.  Then hitting it
again to undo what I wanted to undo in the first place.
