That is correct.
btw I don't like it either, but I am stuck with the design that was done prior
to my becoming involved with the project.
If I had my way, all of our arrays would be replaced with Collections. If
JSR014 ever gets accepted, I would use Generics to replace them. That may be
the reason that they used multidimentional arrays in the first place: type
checking.
