Probably the most effective way is to make sure they fix it by reporting the bug in the IDEA Tracker (http://www.intellij.net/tracker/idea/browse) ;-D
Do a Search first to make sure it hasn't already been reported, and then provide as much detail as possible about how to recreate the problem. Also be sure to include the stack trace (if any) that appears in the console in your report.
