Hi, I'm new to the list (and the product) so I'm sorry if I'm rehashing
some old ground.
I'm a devout user of the Codewright product, which (to my mind is a major
competitor to Idea), however for straight Java coding Idea is certainly
growing on me fast.
One extremely useful feature within Codewright is the ability to drop
"numbered" bookmarks instead of named ones.
Thus I have keys bound as
Ctrl-1 : Drop bookmark 1
Alt -1 : Goto bookmark 1
Ctrl-2 : Drop bookmark 2
Alt -2 : Goto bookmark 2
etc
I think they limit it to 9 numbered bookmarks and as many named bookmarks
as you wish to use.
The ability to drop a few (and i tend to use 2 or 3 numbered ones at most)
bookmarks with a single keypress (ok Ctrl-Something may be 2 presses :),
and to be able to return to that bookmark again with only a single keypress
and no popups is very useful.
The bookmarks are cross-file, so I can drop bookmark 1 at the point where I
am currently working, traverse through other files and return to my edit
point rapidly and easily.
(Marking of the bookmarks in the lefthand column is a topic that appears to
have already been discussed and it gets a +1 from me!)
James
