Hey yeah! Maybe we could have a little animated character, say a paperclip, that would appear and say "Hello, it looks like you're writing a try-catch block! Would you like me to (a) insert a catch block, (b) insert a finally block, (c) bugger off and let you get on with it?"
I'm sure it would never catch on though... Perhaps Microsoft could sponsor it to drop hints about C# at the same time? :o) > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] > Sent: 19 November 2001 11:20 > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: [Eap-features] live template recognition > > > I wonder if it could be possible to have something like a > "live template recognition", > for example the IDE could recognize when you are > editing inside a try-catch block, making it possible to > change the try-catch-structure by adding / removing / altering > catch-statements. > > Or, another example: > if you edit the counter-variable in a for-statement, > it would be really nice if the IDE instantly recognizes the > "for-template", > and offers to adjust the usages of the counter inside the > for-block ... ;-) > > > best regards, > Michael Damberger > > > > > > ________________________________________________________________ > Keine verlorenen Lotto-Quittungen, keine vergessenen Gewinne mehr! > Beim WEB.DE Lottoservice: http://tippen2.web.de/?x=13 > > > > _______________________________________________ > Eap-features mailing list > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > http://www.intellij.com/mailman/listinfo/eap-features > *************************************************************************************** This email and any files transmitted with it are confidential and intended solely for the use of the individual or entity to whom they are addressed.
