I also work with two screens and here is my list of things I would like to see what I would like to be able to do is follows:
-Be able to 'rip' out of the app frame the child windows(Project, Structure, Run, editor pane, etc) I want separated. -Be able to group these single windows into tabs if I want. -Be able to move these floating windows outside of the main IDEA frame. -Be able to save window layouts... so I can have different set-ups for 'debug intensive' vs. 'coding intensive' situations Most advanced graphics applications like PhotoShop support this kind of features. Although IDEA is not an application much like PhotoShop, they do share the fact that they are expert applications developed for people who spend their days working with it and that need to leverage speed of execution as well as flexibility. I think it would make for a most flexible environment that adapts well to developers hardware and work constraints. You're right, I hate them ;-) -10 for me for MDI (Forte for Java 3.0 with MDI is for example completely unusable, is it?) Bye.
