My guess is that we all need to be able to open files in folders where we do not care about refactorings (*), but currently we *have to* add these folder to the project roots just to see the files that are there.
A great improvement to IDEA would be the ability to browse any folder from the 'project view' without these folders having to be part of the files IDEA keeps track of for refactorings/LCVS/... purposes. We'd all gain much speed because the true set of files IDEA should be concerned with would become smaller. And IDEA's hw requirement obviously grow with the 'project' size. Edo (*) I currently have to add to the project roots the whole tree of my installed application, so that I can edit conf files and files produced by the app itself, etc. --- Edoardo Comar Cape Clear Software *** Download the NEW CapeConnect Three *** *** <http://www.capeclear.com/download> *** > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] On Behalf Of Louis Calisi > Sent: 08 February 2002 23:32 > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: Re: [Eap-features] CTRL+SHIFT+N: exclude folders > > > > Wow +1 for exactly the same reason. > > Louis > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Michael Descher" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Sent: Friday, February 08, 2002 2:42 AM > Subject: [Eap-features] CTRL+SHIFT+N: exclude folders > > > > I'd like to be able to exclude some folders on a per project basis > from the > > results you get via CTRL + SHIFT + N, e.g. a directory > called "build" > where > > ant scripts assemble web applications and other stuff from > the regular > > project folders.
