Here's an other thought... how about a Find errors and a find unused feature. That way when a class i removed ,we can get a quick list of all that has been affected.
How this would work is simply go through every file in a path and find all those errors (marked with red line in margin) and unused(marked with yellow in margin) bits of code and list them. Granted that is sort of like compiling but I think this would be faster.
