I think you'll find that this functionality was slated for 1.3, rejected, again for 1.4 and is now planned for 1.5
Assuming that they actually get it passed for 1.5 might be a bit of a stretch? I agree with Erik - wait until they get it into the actual language at that point worry about whether IDEA needs to add any functionality to support it.
