+1 For even a small loop of just a couple of lines, the screen jumps to put the current line in the top 1/3 of the editor window. This is visually jarring. Perhaps IDEA could determine if the "new" current line is completely visible and, if so, do NO scrolling.
-sms -----Original Message----- From: Edwin Delsman [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Sun, March 24, 2002 6:10 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [Eap-features] Diminish debugger scrolling I would verry much like the debugger to scroll less when not needed. If I perform a step, the highlighted line stays fixed at 1/3 of the screen, and the code moves up or down. I'd like the highlighted line to move if the code for it was already on the screen. This may seem like a silly request. However, it is much, much, much easier to spot the highligted line moving e.g. three positions down than it is to detect theat the source around it has moved three lines up. Also, with mouse-wheel scrolling standard in JDK 1.4 it is very easy for me to scroll source in view if needed, and since that is a voluntary action I know what to expect.
