You are presented with the fonts that have a fixed width for all characters.
Arial and Verdana have different widths of their characters (take 'X' and 'i' for 
example). Most code editors uses fixed width 
while code is often lined up and there is a use for the term "columns".

I can not see how I would be able to program efficient using a non fixed width font, 
but maybe I'm just to old.
