It was decided long ago that to increase code robustness, legibility, etc. Idea would not show static methods when completing object.xxx, only when completingClassName.xxx . There have been a very few requests to change this, but there is a strong resistance to this change. I'm one of those that is strongly against this change:) Idea really needs a Help->Faq menu entry with answers to questions like this. The online faq is very far away and nobody remembers to update and/or read it - me included:( I think that this faq should be made available in the Ariadna version - I don't think that its too much work making one.
