It is common to contribute patches to open source projects that you are not (yet ;) a committer to. As it currently stands, submitting a set of patches is a process of manually visiting each file in the local sources, getting a diff, then rolling it into a tarball.
This is an ideal function for automation. The CVS menu would contain a "Generate DiffBall" or something that would create a tarball of all the diffs. Of course, to spread thw word about Idea, unregistered versions should put an additional advertisment file in the tarball. Hah hah.
