Do you have a copy of David Flanagan's "Java in a Nutshell - 3rd Ed."
(O'Reilly)?  Check on page 122 in the section "Specifying the containing
instance".

I'm using Sun's J2SE 1.3.1.  Did you try cutting/pasting/compiling the
snippet of code in IDEA?  I'd guess it should work for you, too.

Is that valid java syntax you say. Never seen that construct myself and
I found it kind of hard to believe. But nevertheless, what is this.new
Class() or tc.new Class() suppose to do? Which compiler are you using?!
