Speaking of return codes, I've found this happens with the SourceSafe
integration too: if another user has a file checked out, all I get is a
message in the status bar telling me SourceSafe exited with code 100. It
would be useful if there was a pop-up containing any error messages that
SourceSafe produces if it gives a non-zero exit code.

Another little niggle is that when I hit ctrl-alt-F to reformat a file, IDEA
prompts me to check out the file (nice) which I do (easily), but then it
just goes back to the editor pane. It would be more intuitive if it then
carried out the reformat as I requested.

Other than that, I'm really happy with the VSS integration - it's a lot
nicer than my External Tools hack :o)

Cheers,
Dan/tastapod
