When a program run from IDEA writes a lot to System.out, IDEA takes a very
long to display it all, hanging in the meantime, uses all CPU power and LOTS
of memory. IDEA must be buffering the data, because after my program
terminates (as seen from taskmanager) it still takes a LONG time to get
itself together again, if ever.

The following program demonstrates the problem:

public class TestOut {
        public static void main(String s[]) {
                for (int i = 0; i < 10000; i++)
                        System.out.println("Lets overload outputstream "+i);
        }
}
// not a very big deal! ;-)

I suggest that you either:
1. Limit the size of the buffer that read the program's output (eg.
ringbuffer)
2. Add option in "Run/debug conf..." that redirects output to a file -
probably the easiest!

I'm using #508 (though the 'bug' is not new), win2k, 650 MHz, 256M.
