I recently had to move my project from one machine to another. All my files,
including my CVS directory went from "d:\ehusby" to "e:\ehusby". I did not realize that CVS stored in the CVS\Root file that actual directory spec, I naively assumed that it would get the proper value from the CVSROOT environment variable. But CVS is not the real issue here. Before I discovered the source of the problem, I ran the IDEA CVS Diff on a file that I had edited and received the message box "The files are identical", which I knew was wrong. When I examined the CVS Console output, I saw the message D:\apps\cvs1-11\cvs.exe diff -r HEAD GameDescriptorTests.java cvs.exe [diff aborted]: d:\ehusby\cvsroot/CVSROOT: No such file or directory So the problem is IDEA reporting success when the command failed. I will be fixing up my CVS\Root files. -- M.
