No.  Its active, but not significant.  Seems to hover around 2 to 4 percent while the 
other programs are busy (there is no debug output to the concsole, so I don't think it 
is that).

My guess it is the fact that our file IO is considered "part of the project".  If I 
read 
and wrote my big files to directories outside of the "project dir", then this wouldn't 
happen.  

I have plans to do this anyway, so when it is complete, I'll let you know if it fixes 
anything.
